At Age With Elegance Medical Aesthetics & Skin Clinic in Bolton, we provide professional anti-wrinkle treatments delivered by an experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner and Independent Nurse Prescriber with NHS experience since 1986. Our nurse-led approach focuses on achieving natural-looking results that soften lines and wrinkles while preserving facial expression and individuality.
Using Botulinum Toxin Type A (commonly known as Botox®), anti-wrinkle treatments can help reduce the appearance of forehead lines, frown lines, crow’s feet, and other expression lines caused by repeated facial movement. Every treatment begins with a comprehensive consultation to ensure a safe, personalised approach that supports your aesthetic goals and helps you achieve a fresher, more youthful appearance.
Anti-wrinkle treatments use a prescription-only medicine containing Botulinum Toxin Type A (commonly known as Botox®) to temporarily relax targeted facial muscles that cause expression lines and wrinkles. This safe and effective treatment is widely used in aesthetic medicine to soften the appearance of forehead lines, frown lines, crow’s feet, and other dynamic wrinkles, helping to create a smoother, fresher, and more youthful appearance.
As Botulinum Toxin Type A is a prescription-only medicine (POM), a face-to-face consultation with a qualified prescriber is legally required before treatment can take place. During your consultation, suitability will be assessed, treatment options discussed, and a personalised treatment plan created. Anti-wrinkle treatments are not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Over time, repeated facial expressions such as smiling, frowning, and squinting can cause fine lines and wrinkles to develop. Anti-wrinkle injections help soften these dynamic lines by temporarily relaxing the muscles responsible for their formation, creating a smoother, fresher, and more rejuvenated appearance while maintaining natural facial expression.
Anti-wrinkle treatments are most commonly used to treat forehead lines, frown lines between the eyebrows, and crow’s feet around the eyes. They can also be used in other areas of the face to help create a more refreshed appearance. Deeper static lines caused by sun damage, collagen loss, and the natural ageing process may benefit from additional skin rejuvenation treatments such as skin boosters, microneedling, or medical grade skincare to achieve the best possible results.
Botulinum toxin A is most commonly used to treat:
Forehead lines
Frown lines (glabella lines)
Crow’s feet (laughter lines around the eyes)
However, advanced techniques can also target lower-face concerns, including:
Gummy smile – Reducing excessive gum show when smiling
Bruxism (teeth grinding) – Relaxing the jaw to relieve tension
Dimpled/pebbled chin – Softening the ‘orange peel’ texture
Jawline definition – Slimming the jaw for a more contoured look
Neck bands and sagging jowls – Smoothing and lifting the lower face
Brow Lift – Elevates the brows for a more lifted appearance
Bunny Lines – Softens wrinkles on the nose
Lip Flip – Enhances the upper lip’s shape by relaxing the surrounding muscles
Hyperhidrosis Treatment – Reduces excessive sweating (underarms, face)
These treatments require a thorough consultation to assess suitability and discuss expected results.
Results typically begin to appear within 3–5 days, with full effects visible at 14 days. During this period, muscle activity gradually reduces, leading to a smoother, more refreshed appearance. As the toxin takes effect, the muscles may undergo a brief transition phase, sometimes resulting in temporary, unusual muscle activity, which will settle as the treatment fully develops. The longevity of results varies between individuals, influenced by factors such as metabolism, muscle strength, and lifestyle.
At the 14-day mark, a review appointment is offered to assess the results, and if necessary, adjustments can be made at no additional cost if your practitioner deems it necessary to optimise your outcome.
For all procedures and consultations we take a non-refundable £50 booking fee, which is redeemable against any products or treatments.
