The range of dermal fillers used by Age with Elegance Aesthetics are non-animal, hyaluronic acid-based (sugar-based), non permanent transparent gels which are injected to: restore facial volume, treat deep skin depressions, facial contouring and volume restoration; in addition to treating fine lines, enhancement of the lips and superficially injected to boost and hydrate the skin. Hyaluronic acid (HA) is widely known for its hydrating properties and naturally occurs in the body in areas such as joints, connective tissue and skin. As time passes, HA depletes leaving the skin dehydrated and fragile as well as sunken and hollow in areas such as cheeks and temples.

In recent years, dermal fillers have become one of the most sought after, non- surgical treatments for facial rejuvenation. They work within the skins matrix to help plump the skin, replace lost volume, hydrate the tissues and reduce both fine and advanced, static lines and wrinkles.

Catherine uses the highest quality Teosyal range of hyaluronic acid fillers. The exact choice of product used will depend on the area being treated. Due to the purity of the dermal fillers used at Age with Elegance Aesthetics, most people who are experiencing the signs of facial ageing, skin degradation and a change in their facial shape can benefit significantly and safely from this treatment. Whilst a consultation is not compulsory for dermal filler treatment, Catherine would advise booking a complimentary, no obligation consultation prior to treatment to allow her to assess your needs, plan your treatment and ensure you are medically fit enough to receive dermal filler treatment. This initial meeting will enable you to learn what you need to know about the treatment, ask any outstanding questions, and for your practitioner to confirm that a treatment with dermal fillers will be both suited to your needs and safe to undergo.

On arrival for your appointment, photographs will be taken and stored as per GDPR guidance. It is usual for numbing cream to be applied to the area to be treated if there are no contraindications – though this is not always the case depending on the area to be treated or the technique to be used. The area will be cleaned with an appropriate skin sanitiser. The treatment will be carried out using either fine needles or cannula (longer blunt ended needle) or a combination of both. You may experience some mild discomfort during the procedure and some mild tenderness after the procedure. Although dermal filler results are seen immediately, there is often some swelling associated with the procedure and occasionally some bruising which may mask the actual results. The results will continue to improve over the next 14 days and the true results will be visible once the swelling and bruising have fully resolved and the HA filler begins to ‘mould’ to your tissue.

The longevity of the treatment is very multi-factorial. More dynamic areas of the face such as lips, don’t tend last as long as less dynamic areas. Skin quality and lifestyle choices such as smoking, UV exposure etc. may also influence longevity of results. Product choice will have an impact hence why Catherine will choose the product that will give the best results for the longest time. Results from Teosyal fillers are typically from 9-18 months.
